My story

Rangers are Africa’s unsung heroes. They don’t just fight poaching - they are conservationists, teachers, community support workers, leaders and much more.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge, organised by Tusk and culminating on 17th September, celebrates their many roles, and is raising much-needed funds to support their work.

Peace Parks was founded in 1997 with the dream to re-establish, renew and preserve large functional ecosystems that transcend man-made boundaries – thereby protecting and regenerating natural and cultural heritage vital to enabling and sustaining a harmonious future for man and the natural world. Peace Parks shares in and contributes to Africa’s larger vision of establishing a community centred, regionally integrated and sustainably managed network of world-class transfrontier conservation areas.

The support provided by the 2021 Wildlife Ranger Challenge has provided our protected areas with vital equipment for the field rangers, such as boots, radio batteries, tents and tyres. WRC 2021 funds will be utilised to procure more much-needed field equipment as well as equipment for effective and accurate reporting, management and conservation actions, the development of a micro-loan scheme in Sioma, and more. WRC support in 2022 will assist with furthering the purchase of personal uniform pieces such as footwear, pocket knives, multitools, emergency equipment, load bearing equipment and materials, and fuel and maintenance for vehicles amongst a variety of other vital developments.

Give today, and the Scheinberg Relief Fund will match every dollar donated, amplifying your impact. Follow campaign updates on social media with #ForWildlifeRangers
